BIRWATCHING IN POÇO DAS ANTAS, MONGAGUA, SP, BRAZIL
The Poço das Antas is a public park in the city of Mongaguá, Sao Paulo state, Brazil, which sits at the base of the mountain to the sea, which arrives at that location near the coast.
It features a large natural area preserved Atlantic rainforest with many species of birds, including endangered. There is a higher area where forest species of medium altitude may occur. There is a small mangrove on the edge of the river, just after the exit of the park.
The park is very interesting and with great ornithological potential because the river Mongagua born into it and in natural forests, where we could observe many species of birds.
On October 19, 2016 we were in the Poco das Antas making observations of birds and fauna in general.
The day was good and we recorded many bird species (55) including two butterflies species. By Antonio Silveira.
